The Tektronix 8200 Series generates comprehensive measurement results, not just raw data, featuring time and amplitude histograms, mask testing, and statistical measurements. This analyzer provides a communications-tailored measurement suite including jitter, noise, duty cycle, overshoot, undershoot, OMA, extinction ratio, Q-factor, mean optical power, and amplitude measurements for both RZ and NRZ signals.

It includes compliance-based mask testing for high-speed optical and electrical communications, and computer standards such as SDH/SONET, Ethernet, and Fibre Channel. Color-grading and gray-scale grading of waveform data add a third dimension—sample density—to signal acquisition and analysis. The industry's first variable persistence database enables precise data and measurement aging across all functions, facilitating dynamic updates on devices under adjustment.

The 8200 Series combines exceptionally low timebase jitter with rapid acquisition rates. It can acquire data across multiple time windows, each with unique acquisition parameters and display settings. The platform offers a comprehensive suite of measurement capabilities for data evaluation, plus acquisition math and waveform math functionality for further result processing with histograms, mask testing, and statistics.

The series provides exceptional data storage flexibility with four 3D databases available simultaneously, featuring industry-first variable persistence with accurate data aging. Color-grading of waveform data enhances signal acquisitions and analyses by adding sample density as a third dimension.

The CSA8200 and TDS8200 models share identical capabilities; either model can be configured with any combination of sampling modules.
